Deep Self Care to Shift Habits
Deep self-care is necessary to shift habits in an effective and healthy way. The “stop it” or “just do it” model often isn’t sustainable and can even be harmful. Habits make up a lot of the way we show up in life. Thus, they can become confused with personality and limit what we believe possible. Our societal norms are made up of collective habits. Similarly, most collective habits are so internalized that we stop seeing them as aspects we have power over. One of the overarching collective habits is using control. That is why using care in our own life to create shifts is powerful, effective, AND radical.
In this episode of Unlimited, I explore an example of using deep self-care shift a habit and change harmful patterns.
Some of what I talk about in this episode includes:
- Habit process recap
- The overthinking habit
- The box of personality
- Distraction vs healing
- Stress response and blaming
